Electric motorbikes are often said to be slow when accelerating. Several electric motorbike models offered in Indonesia have a maximum speed in the range of 50-60 km/hour. Still from the Lightning family, there is another high-speed electric motorbike whose price is more pocket-friendly. Lightning Strike is priced starting at 12,998 US dollars for the standard version. When converted to rupiah the price is around IDR 197 million. 

This motorbike has around 120 hp and uses the same battery as the Lightning LS-218. This sports-style electric motorbike has a maximum speed of up to 241 km. 

  • Energica Ego+

Still from sports style motorbikes, next there is the Energica Eco+. This electric motorbike is made by an Italian manufacturer called Energica. Energica has a speed of 239 km/h. Energica is known to be an experienced manufacturer. The MotoE racing event is supplied by Energica. Energica equips this electric motorbike with a battery with a capacity of 21.5 kWh. The result is that the electric motorbike has a power of 169 hp and can cover a distance of 420 km. Acceleration from 0-100 km/hour can be achieved in a short time, namely 2.8 seconds. Regarding battery capacity, it is not much different from the Energica Eco+, namely 21.5 kWh. If you are looking for a super fast, non-emission vehicle, these two motorbikes could be your choice. Motorcycle acceleration from 0-100 km/hour can be achieved in just 3 seconds. Regarding the price, it's definitely not cheap. This motorbike can be taken home with a dowry starting from 22,850 US dollars or the equivalent of Rp. 346 million. 

  • Zero SR/S dan Zero SR/F

The Zero electric motorbike also has quite good speed records. This sports-style electric motorbike can be driven up to a speed of 199.5 km/hour. At that speed, it is claimed that the motorbike can cover a distance of up to 271 km with a full battery. On paper, this motorbike has a maximum power of 110 hp. 

This Zero brand electric motorbike is actually no stranger to Indonesia. This electric motorbike was recently used at the ASEAN G20 Summit in Bali in November 2022. The Zero SR/S and SR/F electric motorbikes are even used for escort and security needs by the TNI. 

If you pay attention to the slow running of electric motorbikes, this is clearly a myth. The proof is that the five electric motorbikes above even have speeds above super-speed petrol cars.
